Ecbolium viride, Turquoise Crossandra – blue – Plant

Description

Turquoise is rare in the plant world and this tropical Crossandra is rarer still. Native to India and the Arabian peninsula, this fluffy shrub is evergreen in the tropics, thrives in shade, is happy in a container and makes a perfect house plant.

Ecbolium viride grows to 3′ in its natural setting, but can be pinched back to keep it small. It will flourish in a container for years. Give it filtered light, a warm environment, regular water, and a gentle feeding every few months.

Turquoise Crossandra blue is startling, magical, and exceedingly rare. Zones 10-11 or in a sheltered spot. Lovely.
